Is NMN effective for osteoporosis?

hello .
In this session, we will look at NMN and whether it is effective for osteoporosis .
  • NMN

NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a representative anti-aging substance mentioned in ' The End of Aging ' , and is an NAD+ precursor essential for cellular energy activation , DNA repair , and immune improvement . Preclinical experiments have proven that when NMN is consumed, it is converted to NAD+ in the body , which can improve various symptoms that may occur due to aging .

  • NMN and osteoporosis

Let me tell you about the potential of NMN to prevent osteoporosis, based on a paper published in January 2022 .

Prior to this, the cells that make up the bones in our body are called ' bone marrow stem cells ' . As bone marrow stem cells age, cell mutations occur, which reduces the regeneration of stem cells , and as a result, osteoporosis, a representative disease that causes holes in the bones, is induced .
Comparing the two age groups , the study demonstrated that the regenerative capacity of bone stem cells decreases with age , and that blocking the activation of the NAP1L2 protein is necessary to prevent this .

What is noteworthy here is that NMN prevents mutations in cells by blocking NAP1L2 protein activation .

(c) According to the Alizarin Red Staining Test, the redder the color, the more active the bone differentiation progresses , so it can be visually confirmed that the bone differentiation progress is reduced when NMN is added .

NMN offers new therapeutic potential for bone-related diseases.
