Ep. 1-3. My Secret Anti-Aging Management Method : Healthy Eating Habits
The main goal of anti-aging is to maintain a healthy lifestyle ,
It is said to minimize the external and internal symptoms of aging and improve the quality of life .
Rocket America conducted a survey on aging management methods and experiences among 30 challengers divided into 4 categories , and selected the top 2 most common answers in each category .
In this episode, we covered “ healthy eating habits ” among the four areas .
# Healthy Eating Habits

Q: A representative example of anti-aging management is forming healthy eating habits.
Is there one eating habit that you absolutely must follow ?
Top 1. Make sure to eat a certain amount of vegetables and fruits ( including juices or simple dishes ).
“ It is an undeniable fact that nutrition and health are closely related.”
√ What is a telomere ?
It is a DNA protective structure located at the end of a chromosome . For example, if you look at the end of a shoelace, it is the same as the piece of plastic that prevents the lace from fraying and being damaged .
√ The connection between aging and telomeres
As we age, telomeres shorten, and the shorter the telomeres, the more quickly our cells age . Shorter telomeres are associated with shorter life expectancy and an increased incidence of age-related syndromes .
The main causes of telomere shortening are oxidative stress and inflammation !
√ So, how can we maintain the stability of telomeres ?
Polyphenols have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, which can maintain telomere stability and delay shortening. Polyphenols are found in abundance in fruits, vegetables, and certain herbs.

As you can see in the picture above , polyphenols found in vegetables and fruits have anti-aging properties that help prevent telomere shortening .

Top 2. Don't drink alcohol .
“ There is no safe level of alcohol for human health.”
√ Does alcohol consumption affect the acceleration of aging ?
Experiment
To examine the relationship between alcohol consumption and biological aging, we measured drinking frequency and pure alcohol intake over a one- year period .
< Experimental Results>
Compared to non-drinkers , drinkers showed an increase in accelerated biological age (EAA) .
√ The relationship between alcohol consumption and high blood pressure
Long-term average total alcohol consumption and long-term average wine and spirits consumption were associated with a higher risk of hypertension in middle-aged participants . For example , each additional drink per day above long-term average total alcohol consumption was associated with a 1.27- fold increased risk of hypertension in middle-aged participants .
In conclusion, alcohol consumption is associated with biological aging, which may lead to the development of diseases such as hypertension .
